Diplomacy research technologiesAssassination Near the pinnacle of your diplomatic units, Assassination units target the Generals of another city for 'early retirement'.
Assassin's Guild An improvement to your basic Assassin unit, the Assassin's Guild is capable of turning out the most finely honed killing machines in the Kingdom. Not only do Advanced Assassin units have an increased chance of success, there's also an increased chance that they can wipe out more than one military commander at a time.
Counter Intelligence A 'must have' skill, counter intelligence puts all your diplomatic units to work whilst they are at home, looking for their enemy counterparts and attempting to thwart their hostile missions.
Diplomacy Diplomacy is all about knowing your opposite number's strengths - and weaknesses... and knowing them well. Diplomacy enables you to research thief units.
Espionage Espionage is the delicate art of uncovering the secrets of a foreign nation. This technology unlocks the Spy unit. Spies report on the buildings (and their levels) that have been built in a city.
Finesse A more advanced diplomatic skill, finesse allows you to build spies and further improve your consulate, allowing you to found your own alliance.
Global Relations As a master of the intricacies of foreign policy, this skill allows you research saboteur units - capable of causing mayhem in foreign lands.
Interrogation Improving on your Counter Intelligence skills, you can now interrogate captured diplomatic units to determine who sent them on their nefarious mission.
Master Saboteur You can now put a serious dent in your opponent's plans, without having to dispatch troops. In addition to sabotaging current the next building project, Advanced Sabotage units have a chance of sabotaging the second item in a queue as well as delaying research projects underway in the target's city.
Master Scouts An upgrade to the standard scout unit, the master scout is mounted on horseback and can cover terrain a lot faster than a scout on foot. Master scouts not only report on the units present at a location, but can also ascertain the current activities of other military units that have passed this way.
Negotiation The most basic of diplomatic skills, negotiation allows you to build a consulate and to join an alliance.
Sabotage A very advanced diplomatic technology, with this skill you posess the ability to Sabotage the next item in your opponent's building queue.
Scouting This skill allows you to build scouts - the simplest kind of diplomatic unit. Scouts are capable of identifying the types and numbers of units present at a location.
Spymaster An extension to the standard Espionage skill, this technology unlocks the Advanced Spy units. The Advanced Spy not only reports on the buildings present in the city, but can also sniff out future building and research intentions of the player.
Statecraft Some of the cleverest leaders in the land use their influence to sway the outcome. The wisest of these leaders also use a hidden hand to reach their objective. You can now research assassins.
Theft Your diplomatic skills are advancing apace! This technology allows you to train thieves to steal resources from enemy cities. Basic thieves can steal Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone, Food, Beer & Books.
Thiefmastery An extension to the Theft skill, this technology unlocks the Advanced thief units. In addition to the basic resource types, Advanced Thieves can also steal advanced resource types, including gold! Unfortunately, however, even the best thief has trouble making off with something as large as a Siege Block.
