Factions in Illyriad

Factions are system-controlled Non Player Characters (NPCs) with which players can interact. Factions come in 3 flavours - Natural (eg. Wild Beasts), Monstrous (eg. Crawlers or Undead) and Lore (mostly humanoid factions, which you can read about below.

Development of a more sophisticated Faction AI system is currently under way. Once this is deployed, interactions with factions will have new levels of depth. Players will be able to influence not only the relationships between factions and players, but also the relationship between the factions themselves by either helping or hindering the development of each faction.
